Hamas - Conflict Strategy

I know the stated aim of this blog includes an avoidance of the political. However this article here from Ha'aretz, is worth reading despite my reluctance. It recognises that the most "successful" opponents (in any sort of conflict or challenge), are perhaps those which tune their structure, strategy and operations to have the most insidious effect on their enemy. By understanding "what makes their opponents tick" terrorist groups can maximise their efficiency and effectiveness. So what other terrorist groups have "optimised" their strategy for the national psychology of their opponents?
